Despite the widespread mobilization of funds to Black-led organizations following the murder of George Floyd, Black-led organizations continue to experience a disparity between their access to sustainable capital and that of their White counterparts. In addition to challenges in raising sustaining, capacity-building funds, Black-led organizations often lack the social capital to expand their funding pipeline for long-term growth. As fundraisers for these organizations, we are challenged with developing innovative frameworks to build community and partnerships that extend the organization’s footprint and attract new funders to the organization’s mission.
