Joe Coakley leads digital and growth marketing at DonorsChoose. His team is responsible for scaling and maintaining marketing systems, and for growing and retaining its community of teachers and donors through email, sms, paid media and other emerging channels. Prior to DonorsChoose, Joe was directing digital campaigns for the ACLU on the most pressing civil liberties issues, and has spent over 20 years leading digital and direct marketing programs in the nonprofit space for a range of missions. Outside of work, Joe's in the streets skateboarding, at the record store digging for jazz and hip hop vinyl, traveling whenever possible, and taking time to rest.
