Chief, Fundraising Strategist & Creative Director
Blue State
Dan translates client goals into winning strategies and leads cross-disciplinary teams in the execution of extraordinary creative campaigns. With a relentless focus on testing and optimization, he’s helped organizations such as UNICEF USA, Partners In Health, Heifer International, and Habitat For Humanity raise more money and win major advocacy campaigns.
Dan believes in the value of both the big idea and executional excellence, which has helped him raise more than $500 million for nonprofits across countries and continents. Prior to joining Blue State, Dan worked as the British Labour Party's e-campaigns manager, where he specialized in email strategy, message development, and video development. Dan worked with the most senior figures in the British Government and regularly wrote email and direct mail copy for both Gordon Brown and Tony Blair.
At the age of seventeen, Dan helped found his first dot.com. After a short-lived love affair with Xbox, he was briefly Europe's highest paid professional videogamer. A keen cyclist, he once attempted to cycle from his parents’ house in Norfolk to Portugal. (He didn't make it.)
Dan holds a first class degree in Politics and Business Studies from the University of Liverpool and an M.A. in Intelligence and International Security from King's College London.
