Terrel White, MSA, MSW, was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and is currently the Director of Advancement at the Center for Nonprofit Excellence in Charlottesville, Virginia. He previously served as the Assistant Director of Philanthropy for Wayne State University’s College of Nursing. He is also the founder and lead consultant at Werq Consulting, a premier consulting agency dedicated to bringing meaningful and sustainable change to clients across the United States through dynamic training segments, webinars, and completing commissioned special projects. The agency specializes in organizational dynamics, fund development, emotional intelligence, and Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Services. Terrel was awarded the distinction of one of the 2022 Outstanding Young Professionals in Philanthropy from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Terrel was also selected as a 2020-2021 Policy Fellow with the Network for Social Work Management, researching sustainable housing and economic development for trans women of color. He holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California as a macro practitioner, focusing on social change, innovation, and policy advocacy; a Master’s degree in Administration with a concentration in nonprofit administration and philanthropy from Central Michigan University; and a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from Wayne State University.
