Deb Taft is Chief Executive Officer of Lindauer, a leading global search and talent firm in the nonprofit sector. An innovative leader in the nonprofit and professional services arena, she was formerly Senior EVP and Managing Director for the global philanthropic consultancy Grenzebach Glier and Associates (GG+A), where she oversaw all global consulting practices and led the firm day-to-day. Her expertise includes governance and strategic planning; organizational growth and talent; equity, inclusion, and diversity; nonprofit management; and fundraising, marketing, and communications.
Taft previously served as Chief Development Officer and Interim Chief Strategy Officer for Girl Scouts of the USA, based in New York. As one of the most senior officers in this iconic leadership organization representing girls in 112 US councils and 94 countries, she played a critical role in transforming organizational talent, culture, and social impact, including leading the $1 Billion ToGetHerThere Campaign, the largest campaign for girls in the world, and the initiative to engage 50 million former alumnae. She held prior executive roles at Simmons University, Tufts Medical Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, and Concord Academy. She was a founding team member of City Year, which today has 28 youth service teams across the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Africa.
Taft chairs the Board of Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts and serves on the Board of The Giving Institute, the Editorial Board of Giving USA, and ex-officio on the Board of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education as Chair of the CASE Industry Advisory Council. She is the former Co-Chair of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation Board of Directors and today serves on the HRC Emeritus Council. She continues to advance inclusion and equity as Chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee of the Giving Institute, through her work with Allies in Action for Women of Color in Philanthropy (WŌC) and the CASE Opportunity and Inclusion Center, and her membership in the Executive Search Roundtable (ESR) for the American Council on Education (ACE) and the Network of Nonprofit Search Consultants (NNSC). A respected speaker and facilitator, Taft holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and an MBA from Simmons University.
