Grace Hong is an accomplished major and principal gifts fundraising professional in Washington, DC. She is currently Director of Philanthropy at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Prior positions included Director of Development at National Geographic Society, Chief Development Officer at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, and Director of Development of Children’s National Hospital. Grace started her career in fundraising in the development offices of the Levine School of Music and Washington Hospital Center.
Grace has been an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) DC Chapter since 1998 and was president of the board in 2007. She has served on numerous committees including Bridge Conference, Fundraising, Mentoring and Past Presidents.
Grace currently serves on the board of the Washington Canoe Club. Previous board memberships include House of Mercy’s Rosemount Center and the Sitar Arts Center.
Grace is from upstate New York and she is a graduate of Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music where she received dual Bachelor’s degrees in Piano Performance and English. She received her Masters of Arts in Arts Management from American University. Grace lives in the historic Mt. Pleasant neighborhood with her husband David and their son Ryan, along with Siamese cat sisters Riley and Ziggy. With her active and adventurous family, she enjoys hiking, biking, paddling, skiing, trail running and cooking.
