Summers Hammel

Summers brings her knowledge of project management, grant writing, and nonprofit development operations together to serve clients’ needs. She specializes in research projects, campaign counsel, and feasibility studies. In addition, Summers keeps projects on track and on time. She is the point person for communications with our clients during an engagement and oversees projects from launch to completion.
Before joining Benefactor Group, Summers worked as development and grants associate at Local Matters, a Columbus-based nonprofit that builds healthy communities through food education, access, and advocacy. She also served as program coordinator for the global security and international affairs program area at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in Boston, MA. There, she managed grant-funded research projects involving academic scholars, political figures, and NGO leaders with international scopes of work.
Summers is currently based in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from Boston College.
