Chief Strategy Officer, Fresno Mission
Fresno Mission
Nathan Freeland is the CSO of Fresno Mission where he oversees all development, fundraising, integration of departments, and special projects. Alongside the CEO, Nathan plays an integral part in the development of City Center and City Ranch, the two largest expansion projects in the 74-year history of the mission. Previously he served as the Vice Chairman and Treasurer of the board of directors.
Prior to joining Fresno Mission, Nathan provided consulting, data analytics, and revitalization services to struggling churches and non-profits. Before this, Nathan served in various executive leadership roles for multiple large-staff churches throughout the Central Valley of California.
Nathan also spent 18 years in the entertainment industry where he designed and installed audio, video and lighting equipment for international corporations, movie premieres, tradeshows, and corporate parties.
In late 2018, he published his first book, CHURCH BUSINESS: Making the Business of Church Easier, Simpler, and Much Less Painful. Nathan says it was a bestselling book, but probably because it was the only one in the category.
Nathan earned his Bachelor of Art in Organizational Leadership from Regent University in less than three years while raising his gaggle of six children. He loves to travel with his wife, Brandy, build furniture in their garage, and construct giant 5,000-piece Lego sets. He is also convinced that In-N-Out Burger will be served in heaven.
